Katie Taylor has been a member of Harmony, Inc. since 1982, joining at the age of 12! She is in her 22nd year as director of the 4-time champions and current 2024 International Chorus Champions, Northern Blend! She received the NBC Barbershopper of the Year award in 2021 after navigating her chorus through Covid. Katie has also won the title of ‘Harmony Queen’ with 4 quartet championships in 1996 (For Heaven’s Sake on bass), 2008 (U4X on tenor), 2015 (LiveWire on lead), and she currently sings baritone with Roulette, the 2024 HI Harmony Queens! She is the only barbershoppen to ever win a gold medal in all 4 voice parts!! Katie has served on the HI International Board, the HI Equity & Diversity Committee, and has served on faculty at Harmony University, as well as numerous youth camps and education days. Katie has been a music educator for 28 years, ans loves working with the youth! She is also a coach and private voice instructor for all ages, and makes learning trax here at Taylot Trax for quartets and choruses. She is an ally and advocate for LGBTQ+ people, having served on the NY State Union of Teachers LBGTQ+ Committee, a GSA faculty advisor ofr 7-12 grade students, on the board of NNY Pride, and as a volunteer on the plan committee for local Pride Festivals in her area.
